I know I don't owe it to anyone to keep Despotism going but it feels like a huge personal failure that it's been taking me this long to make a single episode. I barely work on it now because I'm either with family or trying to appease thumbnail clients or burnt out

Scary experience but I'm glad I know now. I could have gone most of my life without knowing if I hadn't gotten food stuck in my throat, and who knows - it might have gotten worse over time and I might have choked to death for real. So I'm super happy that I'm ok now.

UPDATE:

Found out I have EoE. It's an allergic condition that causes white blood cells (eisinophils) to build up in my esophagus when I have certain foods/allergens. I'm going to have a test in a couple months to figure out what exactly I'm allergic to, but at least I know what happened now.

Just realized Bluesky hasn't seen my medical drama over the past 2 days lol.

• I choked on a hot dog and couldn't drink or eat since 6pm on the 25th
• Drove all the way to Vancouver to avoid wait times
• Had to sleep in a hospital bed overnight dry heaving
• Got a tube stuck down my throat
