Ships already run electricity and there are EV ferries already in operation. Sure there’s work to be done for conversion, but I think it’s pretty understood at this point.
Batteries are sealed. They’re used in port cities and other humid areas. This isn’t an unsolved problem.
It can be used in zeppelins, too.

Many do, yes. None of SpaceX’s do though.

But why is this relevant? 🚀
Hydrogen is not a good solution for storage due to inherent inefficiencies as well as serious storage problems. Scotland needs more batteries and more electrical demand to eat up the current “excess” production leading to curtailment. A better grid would help too.
Are we arguing about what they were called, panels or something else? Seems silly.

But here’s a clip from the 1979 NYTimes article calling them panels.
