Greeting you on Bluesky with this reminder

They are living, thinking, feeling beings

And they deserve our respect, even if we haven't earned theirs.

One love

The Epstein thing should have blown up in their faces ages ago but at this point, they've literally shut down the gov to cover it up so ..... Kinda hard to NOT let the cat out of the bag at this point since they can't really reopen without releasing the files.

You are 100% correct.

Mike Johnson’s abrupt closure of the House had more to do with stalling a congressional investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking operation than previously reported, and it appears to have been a direct response to the Treasury’s surrender of Epstein’s financial records.
SCOOP: Johnson closed House hours after Congress received Epstein’s financial records
The decision to shut down the House — and by extension the government — came hours after the Oversight Committee received documents from the US Treasury.

Well this is big news for the wild world of renewable energy.

That would be a wolf, as far as I know coyotes don't come in black.

The system needs a load in order to remain healthy. So I dreamed up one that would fluctuate with the seasons, a small efficient refrigerator. In the summer when there's lots of sunshine, it needs more power, in the winter ;-) it needs less.

Worked like a charm.

Sometimes they just really want there photos taken.

Well thanks.
I pulled another trick I thought was pretty slick. I used a small efficient refrigerator as the load. That way when it was hot (lots of sunshine) there's be a healthy load. When it was cold, there'd be a more limited load but one that'd heat the area.

Fridge is working really well.

I used a very small insulated structure with plenty of windows to house the house bank, and I put the regulated load in there as well rather than have it be something elsewhere. It really worked well. ;-)
Thanks for the Kudos
Cheers

No, I wasn't sure how it'd work out. I just laid out the parameters of the system and designed it accordingly. Damn if it didn't work out really well.

I'm very pleasantly surprised its working so well. I would have thought some maintenance was required. Id also suspect frost damage after so long without any supervision in an unheated environment but nothing, no damage at all, all batteries read healthy.

I also put the load in the same structure so it helped heat things up in the cold too.

I called out good batteries that heat themselves ;-) so they don't get damaged if temps drop. And I put them in a small almost greenhouse like structure so temps passively wanted to stay high in freezing weather.

A south facing slope is perfect, makes it easy to clean the panels. If there's no shade or wires overhead, you got it made. Just make sure and put a steady load on the system that's not to big and the built in safety features should keep everything in goos shape.

Feeling accomplished
Three years ago I designed and built a stand alone solar system. It was soon thereafter abandoned. A few days ago I checked on it. With no maintenance, repairs, through all the snow, hail, rain, freezing temps never even cleaning the panels, its still working perfectly.
