RIP Paul.
Era una torcaz joven que llegó sangrando por la nariz. La estuvimos cuidando durante un mes y luego la liberamos. El pasado jueves la mató un cazador.

If making things was just about the joy of making them, modern video games wouldn't exist. The only reason devs push through the hell that is developing a full game is to reach the end product.

I've rescued more than 200 pigeons so far this year.
Help me?

Non-ironically, the most memorable scene from Persona 4 to me is when a mysterious voice says "......" and that's the sole dialogue for the scene.

I think about that a lot.

It's very concerning that payment processors get to decide what kind of content is allowed to be sold.

If I want to make new builds of my Unity games now, I need to either add the "Made with Unity" splash screen, pay 2,030€ for a year of Unity Pro, or update the games to a newer Unity version, accepting the new terms and conditions and breaking stuff.

We have a ton of "retry until you master it", but very little "you have one chance: improvise".

I recently enjoy Many Nights a Whisper because that's its whole premise. Well, not the improvise part, you do prepare a lot, but it's still cool and rare.

In Expedition 33 you can fight merchants and if you win they sell you a special item. A perfect opportunity for one-chance combats, but they didn't take it. You can try as much as you want, making those combats just a small chore.

Chrono Trigger had a side quest you could fail, letting a character permanently disabled. No reties. This kind of sidequests should be the standard.

I’m making a visual novel about a sports club where you can lose the high school tournament and have to try again the next year. Someone told me: "So I must lose on purpose in order to get the most amount of content??"
That’s a sad, but expected reaction.

You haven't really experienced Pikmin if you reloaded your save after a bad day. You haven't really experienced X-COM: Enemy Unknown if you didn't play it on Ironman mode.

The main feature of the Fire Emblem saga used to be that characters died for real. Then they made it optional. Why not? Most players just loaded a save when a character died anyway.

We are conditioned to see video games not as experiences, but as a collection of content that you should ideally consume 100% of.

Of course, this makes sense for a lot of games, but the alternative is so rarely explored; doing so often triggers complains.

In Japanese visual novels in particular, there is an expectation that you will just replay them to go through every possible route. A lot of them even require it to see the ending of the main plot.

It's ironic that permanent consequences in video games are generally frowned upon. Acceptable in narrative games in which the branching narrative is the whole point, but gamers will be mad if you permanently lock them out of an item in an RPG.

"bastante desafiante por lo que propone, pero Ambidextro realmente es un juego que consigue ser muy disfrutón para los veteranos de los plataformas a pesar de su constante ensayo y error."

Signal boosting!

I've definitely seen the concept of the "control two characters at a time" maze offered in other games (going all the way back to the 1983 game Joinem), but this looks like a really solid execution in precision platformer format!

The English dub seems to be pushed as the main one, but is it because that's the devs' vision or because it's better for marketing?

There seems to be a lot of people asking about this online. I whish we could get an official answer form @sandfallgames.bsky.social
