Day 2 of Book Advent 📚
The Subjugate by @amandabridgeman.bsky.social; in a watchful world humanity is complemented by AI, cities are ruled by security companies, murder is commonplace & violent criminals face extreme 'treatments'. An intriguing future dystopia tackling big questions.

Absolutely! In my experience, those ‘staring out the window’ breaks are crucial for developing stories.

Latest read: Symbiote by Michael Nayak. I’ve always had an interest in Antarctica, as well as remote horrors, so I enjoyed this peek at life down there - Michael’s real life experience shows. If you like the sound of ‘Contagion meets The Walking Dead’, check it out!

Love the advice from Aline Brosh McKenna’s friend in the last ep of the Script Notes podcast:

“Make sure your dream is something that still exists.”

Are you chasing an old version of the film/tv/publishing/comics/music industry, that no longer exists? Industries change w time. Good 2 think about!

Thanks to Madman Films
& Pan Macmillan Australia I caught a screening of Deeper today. I enjoyed this story of an expedition to an incredibly deep cave in NZ, by well-known cave diver Dr. Richard Harris & his support team. It also confirms that cave diving is *definitely* not for me. 😁
