We’ve used wide mouth mason jars as water glasses for YEARS, and just bought “real” glasses a couple months ago.
Bad idea. Never again.
We are a family of ruffians, and I am the matriarch of the chaos. I’ve always been (hopefully lovably) clumsy. The real glasses never stood a chance.

Our mothers didn’t play with us constantly (& THEIR mothers didn’t play with THEM constantly) when we were little, not because they didn’t love us, but because who else was going to do the laundry/make food/clean the house/do the shopping/etc.? It wasn’t an issue of love, but rather time management!
