Correct diagnosis: It's not that LLMs will "undo" science but they will accelerate its slopification because of the already existing perverse incentive structures that are in place. "LLMs didn’t create the dysfunction in scientific publishing; they inherited it, intensified it, made it run faster."
I wrote a piece on LLMs, citation metrics, and the institution of science. It's been up for a couple of days, but it is officially "out" now.
