We shouldn't be gloating about Polievre staying on. The CPC made big gains last year, and the economy only going to get worse in the short term. He could absolutely win under the right conditions, imo. Don't get complacent.

Remember: Dems gloated like crazy about Trump winning the primary in 2016

We can't lecture the world about shredding the international rules-based order and then pal around with the people who have been shredding it before our very eyes for the last 2 years - not to mention all the decades of occupation and apartheid that preceded this horrific moment.

FREE GEORGIA FORT!
Minnesota based Independent Journalist GEORGIA FORT has been arrested for filming a protest of the church pastor that works as an ICE manager. SPREAD THE WORD! Georgia has been doing outstanding reporting from ground zero!

The memories of Alex Pretti and Renee Good deserve to be uplifted. So does Keith Porter and all the Black, Latino and Asian people dead at the hands of ICE/CBP. Naomi Bethune writes about these differences in attention.

Responses to ICE Violence Reveal a Racial Double Standard - The American Prospect
The deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good are getting national attention. The brutality against primarily Black, Latino, and Asian immigrants has not triggered the same outrage.

The MAGA mind cannot imagine anyone actually believing in something
James O’Keefe responds to a comment

“Figured they (ICE protesters) were being paid…”

O’Keefe:

“No, it's more terrifying than that. It's not transactional.

They actually believe in their cause.

That truth is going to be hard for most people to understand or accept.”

A Canadian-made armoured vehicle was spotted on Minneapolis streets the day ICE murdered Alex Pretti.

The company that sold ICE that monster as part of a $10 million deal? Roshel.

What’s more:

Canada’s government brought Roshel’s CEO on a trade mission SIX DAYS AFTER Renee Good was murdered.

Following this exclusive (and excellent) piece from David, I've contacted the federal government to ask if they intend to continue subsidizing JSI Telecom in the future.

I've also contacted JSI Telecom for comment, adding them to the list of Canadian businesses working with ICE who I've contacted.
In December, the Canadian government gave $1 million to Ottawa's JSI Telecom to commercialize AI-driven data analytics.

JSI, a wiretaps and investigation support firm, had a banner year in U.S. government sales in 2025, including a big new contract with ICE.

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

Message to fellow journalists (and anyone claiming to be one): do not “police-involved shooting” executions in broad daylight.

Obfuscating language like that is completely journalistically unnecessary and, even worse, sanitizes reality.

Words have meaning. Use the right ones.

Lol I am so used to seeing people gush about how Carney was 🤩Governor of the Bank of England🤩 that I didn't even parse the 'Governor' diss here until someone pointed it out
Trump: “If Governor Carney thinks he is going to make Canada a ‘Drop Off Port’ for China to send goods and products into the United States, he is sorely mistaken … If Canada makes a deal with China, it will immediately be hit with a 100% Tariff against all Canadian goods and products”

It's a fantastic speech, but as a Canadian the China agreement was the first time his rhetoric matched his actions.

Apart from that his statement after Maduro was kidnapped could've been written by a Republican, he caved on the big tech tax, he said Gaza should be a ‘zionist Palestinian state', etc
Carney: "American hegemony in particular helped provide public goods, a stable financial system... this bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition... recently, great powers have begun using economic integration as a weapon. Tariffs as leverage ... "

I would really caution anyone against implying that paywalling this feature is a legitimate response to public outcry. The paywall is an endorsement, not a restriction. Musk is saying "this thing you're all talking about is valuable. Pay me for it." The actual material effect is just monetization.

Like those before it, that insane, vile DHS statement about the Minneapolis shooting isn't about covering anything up. It's performative lying.

They aren't trying to persuade anyone that their agents did nothing wrong. They're trying to project that their agents can get away with anything.

The way the press is treating chatbots, like they have agency and they “know” things all of a sudden, crossed the line recently from dumb and obsequious to something else entirely. Treating them as alive and making conscious decisions is an almost religious belief. It won’t age well.

First time I've seen Google's AI overview refuse to produce an answer, and it's on a query related to a historic free speech case. Not a great omen.
