I was really enjoying the first 3/4 of this game.

Please don’t say that I’m vain and want to age like Paul Rudd

“One of the greatest playoff games we may ever see…”

This game gave Armin a case of Stockholm Syndrome.

Adam Amin is overcompensating for a game he knows has devolved into a snooze fest.

And he’s pitching in the 15th inning for a reason.

Tommy Kahnle has made about $30 mil in his career which makes me less sympathetic if he’s the guy who takes the L.

This game will be the reason we get the automatic base runner in the playoffs moving forward.

I started hating him before extra innings started.

I have gone from just wanting an entertaining game to being completely indifferent to who wins.

These Mariners players that generational scout AJ Preller didn’t find worth keeping as Padres are playing very well tonight.

What a great moment for Leo Rivas there.

Was really disappointed in the direction the Alien TV show ultimately went in.

The hire will probably be someone way more uninspiring like David Ross.

Oh a modal/spandex blend is basically a workout shirt. No wonder it’s so comfortable.

Both are close to Shildt so I doubt either are interested in taking his job. Also, the question surrounding Shildt has never been his ability to lead, it’s his strategy and stubbornness. I wouldn’t expect two hall of fame players with no managing experience to be any different.

I think the point Keith is trying to make is a little more nuanced than that. The conversation is more about “firing when he does,” than “hiring who he wants.”

And for me, I’m asking the question because firing 30 people seems like a bold move for a first-time GM’s first offseason. Maybe too bold.

Strong disagree, there. He definitely looks the type.

Can you sent me a picture of the fabric tag? Without looking I’m going to assume it’s a lyocell blend.

I think they’d want him to lame duck this upcoming season to coerce him into resigning.
amsullinger.bsky.social
If it’s the team’s decision, sure, but will AJ willingly quit right now if the decision is his?
amsullinger.bsky.social
We still don’t know if it’s the team that is considering moving on or if AJ wants to walk away.

Unless Preller is taking over the Rockies and can bring his inner circle with him, maybe we should expect him to be back with the Padres next season, if for no other reason than to make sure his guys (generally considered a packaged deal with him) aren’t put in a tough position.

the hiring cycle is just about over for teams. the terminated employees have very little window to find jobs with other clubs now

Is this a Lerner thing or is this Toboni’s first misstep?
