Upsets me to read this. Like me, Marc is an #SF native and we’re not far apart in age. He also did me a Solid in 2018 and was completely ethical, smart, respectful throughout (I can’t detail ins/outs but am comfortable broadly characterizing out interaction.) I’m unhappy to see him now #MAGA-pilled.

The only difference between Peter Thiel and a homeless person raving about the end of the world is that Thiel can afford to rent a hall while the homeless guy makes do with a subway platform.

Thiel’s talks, which began on 15 September and ended on Monday, were long and sweeping, mingling biblical passages, recent history and philosophy and sometimes deviating into conspiracy theories. He peppered them with references to video games and TV shows along with musings on JRR Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. He likewise recalled conversations with Elon Musk and Benjamin Netanyahu and spoke at length about how he thinks Bill Gates is “a very, very awful person”.
