Update: they’re done!

Will add them to my Tudor corner later. Really need to get some light kits so that those stained glass windows can shine!

I find "America isn't really set up for it" to be an annoying rebuttal to any sort of proposal to reduce car dependency. Our leaders used policy to create a system of car dependency and we can sure as hell use policy to undo that. There are absolutely barriers, but do nothing is not a solution.

15 years ago, my husband and I moved to a small city (town) for a job for him. It’s been hard for me. It’s never felt like home to me, but it is the only home my three children have ever known.

I will move away someday but I have always maintained that I wouldn’t move my kids for no good reason.

Every time I ride the bus in Moncton with my kids it’s a nightmare and I end up delaying the bus.

I buy digitally through the HotSpot app. In order to board I need to show the driver my pass, then manually expire that pass, then purchase another one for a child and show that to the driver too.

I can’t think of a better way to spend New Year’s Eve than taking the bus to some NYE celebrations, while wearing my CBC toque and my new Via Rail Ocean line hoodie. Truly a vibe.

Business idea: combination bike shop, book store, and café called Bikes, Books, & Beans.

But upon walking in, patrons will be surprised to learn that the beans in the title does not represent coffee beans, but rather crockpots full of warmed cans of brown beans in various flavours.

Unforgettable.

This is maybe the most beautiful article I’ve read in 2025.

www.bbc.com/news/article...

I think I shall read no other news until 2026, to end on this note.
Cardiff couple invited man in for Christmas, he stayed for 45 years
An arrangement Rob and Dianne Parsons thought would last a few days ended up changing their lives.

Is there a way, in New Brunswick, to follow-up to see the status of a trial that was to take place?

In early 2024, multiple media outlets reported that the trial was scheduled for September 2025, but I’ve been checking every now and then and there has been no updates since then.

A TikTok came up on my fyp of a guy talking about trying to buy something in store and the employee was unhelpful and told him to order it online.

He didn’t name the store but many commenters are guessing Canadian Tire.

Which begs the question: if it’s universal, is their bad service on purpose?

Today during church my 11yo accidentally stepped on a mouse and heard a crunch.

While the condition of the mouse prior to the incident is unknown, its condition after the incident was definite.

I promise the mouse is not in this picture.

Oh what’s that? A housing crisis?

Wouldn’t know it in Miramichi where we turned down 3.2million from the federal government so that we don’t have to increase our pop density (2021= 3.6per sq km).

But also let’s complain about the housing insecure population. And property taxes. And service gaps.🙃

I’m (once again) just a girl, sitting on a (very busy) train (on a Wednesday in November) begging Via to return the Ocean line to daily service.

My favourite parts of this trip to Montreal:

Build walkable, liveable cities and as a bonus you’ll get children giggling as they commute to school/daycare by sled.

The amount of “I trick or treated in snowstorms” posts on Facebook right now is driving me.

I remember trick or treating in a full snowsuit too. That doesn’t mean I wish that experience on my kids.

I hate our society’s penchant to declare that since we suffered, others should suffer too.

I wish there were more opportunities for me to share with people my favourite fact about myself:

My 8th great grandfather was the King of England.

(My 7th great grandfather was his illegitimate son).
