If I were a voter from AZ I’d be pretty pissed at this little weasel. Alas I’m one from MA. Still pretty pissed though.
Mike Johnson says he will not bring the House back in session until the government reopens

Amazon is helping fund a $300 million build of a ballroom for the White House.

Independent bookstores are donating to food banks and organizations that help with food insecurity.

They are not the same.
She's a lying tool, but I can't get past the first FIVE words of this quote: "There ARE no American citizens WHO...." #grammar #moron #idiot #liar
Kristi Noem: “There's no American citizens that have been arrested or detained. We focus on those that are here illegally. And anything that you would hear or report that would be different than that is simply not true and false reporting.”
Is this where I say plumbing is a b****? Because it never ends well over here and usually has a starting point in the $$$$
"Snap benefits ARE", not "is" you freaking grammar moron.#liar #releasetheepsteinfiles #reconvenetheHOUSE
Johnson: Snap benefits is a unique situation. I got a summary of the legal analysis…the contingency funds are not legally available to cover the benefits right now
Horse manure! You can love a third term all you wish Mr tRump - still unconstitutional (so far). #stoptheinsanity #releasetheepsteinfiles
President Trump said he had an MRI earlier this month, telling reporters Monday that the results had been “perfect” but declining to say why his doctors had ordered the scan. He also reiterated that he was interested in serving a third term.
Trump Says a Recent M.R.I. Scan Was ‘Perfect,’ and He’d ‘Love’ a Third Term
President Trump made the comments on the second day of his trip to Asia. The Constitution limits presidents to two terms, but Mr. Trump has suggested he might try to circumvent it.

No one in this wealthy country of ours should be food insecure - I don't care what your politics might be. To take away food from vulnerable people is wrong.

If you're offended by my thinking, maybe reflect on that for a bit.

SNAP does not just serve what some would say are undeserving lazy people on welfare. Those benefits support families for whom a living wage is unattainable, the elderly who cannot afford basic needs, the disabled... the many people and families needing us to be empathetic and human.

Here's what I'm thinking today as the US government prepares to reduce/eliminate SNAP assistance: "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." (Matthew 25:40)

So, fun fact: I taught in a parochial school for 10 years. I taught religion every day to 7- and 8-yo children. It was one of the ways my (normally quiet) beliefs manifested themselves. Later I chose to teach schools with higher poverty rates & saw the impact of food insecurity up close.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.
I blew in from Buffalo and Ohio in 1967. Still from out of town :-) The archive is probably closed due to shutdown (they have everything!), but I have found info from all over in NEGHS. Currently trying to decipher Italian in order to read about my Sicilian family.

Has anyone ever attempted to figure out how many dollars we’ve paid Congress to do absolutely nothing in the 21st century, including their salaries, expenses, benefits, and pensions?
Welcome to geneaology Liz! If you haven't found the archives in Waltham or been to New England Geneaology in Boston, DM me.

Your Mom must be a great source of family history!
Awwww, did his little feelings get hurt? Too close to the truth? Pick your label: #idiot #snowflake #moron.
Breaking News: President Trump said he would raise tariffs on Canada by 10% over an ad, paid for by the province of Ontario, that used Ronald Reagan’s words to denounce tariffs. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/25/w...

Stop saying “renovation.”

Better words:
Desecration
Violation
Demolition
Destruction
Retribution
Vanity-wrecking-ball
EXACTLY!!!!!
This is quite a hed/subhed.
1) Start with Vance. Use strong action verb. Accept the autocratic premise that the “Marines’ Might” are Vance’s to flex.
2) Mention the protest second and absurdly describe them as in the thousands
3) Treat Trump’s strong man use of the military as a partisan scuffle.
Back at ya! Still, great to be among deep thinking people!
