Morning in a Vermont field. I visit this spot nearly every time I come home, and it always fascinates me through changing light and seasons. #Vermont #MorningMist
Morning mist rises on a field with undulating green grass interrupted by lines of trees and taller plants.

It's been an interesting week, temperature wise. I don't recall NH being so warm in autumn when I was a kid.

There's a place in Enfield, NH that I haven't visited before, called Halfmile Pond that sounds like an enjoyable hike. I've visited nearby Smith Pond a couple of years back.

It's like they've forgotten how he ended the war on Ukraine in 24 hours. Sad!

It's my last full day in New England, and I was considering a photo hike to a remote pond this morning. In view of the fact that it's only 30℉ / 1℃ outside, I'm rethinking that plan. I packed for cool weather, not freezing. 🥶

Today I got to go inside my first cold storage cemetery chamber! The door was wide open, so it was now or never. This is the Center of Town Cemetery in Hartland. I don't know if it's still used these days when graves aren't dug by hand.

The oldest grave I saw dated back to 1810. #Vermont #Cemetery
Exterior view of an old "cold storage" chamber. They were used to store bodies of those who died in the winter, when the ground froze hard. Open door to the same chamber. Interior view of the chamber, as seen from the back wall. The ceiling and walls are made from rough rocks with no visible cement. Interior view of the chamber, as seen from the back wall. I was just listening to that album today. Good stuff!

I'm in general agreement with you, except the motives of undiscerning sellers aren't important to me. They'll sell merch that plays to both sides of an issue because they're invested solely in profit.

Unless they're exploiting people to make products, what matters to me is what I intend it say.

Exposed a roll of Kentmere 200 for the first time in the Rolleicord (Pic with homemade sloe gin and lemonade) from a friends wedding - developed in ID11 1:1 for the recommended time and made small prints with the Devere 504.
The whole thing gives me joy.

Finished the 36 exposure roll of Phoenix Color 200 in my Chinon Bellami this afternoon. It'll be fun to see all the shots I'd forgotten about when I get this developed. #BelieveInFilm #NewEngland

Pumpkins for sale. #Pumpkins #Farmhouse #Vermont
An assortment of pumpkins displayed on the lawn of a big yellow farmhouse along Route 5. There are baskets of colorful flowers decorating the exterior of the house. Limbs of an oak tree hang overhead.

Looks like I chose a good week to go on vacation. 😅

Centralizing IT services is a keen idea until the center keels over and stops responding.

And to think if I hadn't gotten temporarily lost in the woods today, I wouldn't have stumbled across some conical mushrooms. #Mushrooms #NewHampshire
A pair of mushrooms growing in the woods. They're surrounded by fallen leaves and pine needles.

I can't tell if that's sincere or meant to be facetious. Either way, my life is complete without any reminders of that guy.

In 2006, I learned that this tiny roadside knoll, a couple miles from where I grew up, was the site of an old schoolhouse ー the very one my grandfather attended ~1920.

The building was later sold, and moved 3 miles away where it's still in use as a home addition. #History #MeridenNH
Stop sign and a street sign where two rural New Hampshire roads meet. From the camera's vantage point, standing on the Whitaker Road, straight ahead is a small grassy knoll area where the Penniman School used to stand many years ago.

There are no historical markers here, so unless you know what to look for, it doesn't look like much of anything. I suspect most locals are unaware of its history.

I started to explain that I'm on vacation, and like to take photos of everyday life around the area where I grew up, but I didn't feel like justifying a totally innocuous activity.

Beady eyed redneck can keep his top secret coffee. He won't get future business from me.

A paranoid store owner stopped me from taking a picture of my cup of New England coffee in front of the machine. He had noticed me taking photos of antique tractors across the road, and was sure I was up to unspeakable evil.

I've been in that store many times. Not anymore.

I left the coffee.

I hiked out to see a loon nest today. I didn't see any loons, but I did see this cute little rodent along the trail. There are chipmunks in Tennessee, but they're more common up this way for some reason. #chipmunk #NewHampshire
A chipmunk peeks out from a boulder. It's surrounded by fallen leaves.

Same, and it's so useful with fall foliage.

Roadside food in New Hampshire. I didn't ask about the buns. 😅

Nazis marching through American cities aren't making this country "great." If America recovers, these actions will be a shameful stain in the history books ー right up there with Jim Crow, or worse.
