The Holga along with Pinhole and some SX70 photos have come closest to how I feel about the Fenlands where I live - steeped in history, social conflict , change and intensive farming , there’s a loneliness and often bleakness to the landscape.

And I had to make a darkroom print.

Exposed a roll of Kentmere 200 for the first time in the Rolleicord (Pic with homemade sloe gin and lemonade) from a friends wedding - developed in ID11 1:1 for the recommended time and made small prints with the Devere 504.
The whole thing gives me joy.

Going into the darkroom for a couple of hours is very easy and simple these days. The space is in the garage, I connect the water to our adjacent utility room, have stored developer and fix in brown bottles and a tray heater - up and running within 10 mins usually.
If it’s a chore it won’t happen.

It pays to shop around - Carmarthen Camera - came in 2 days (other more popular “wonder” stores take note please) and at £67 delivered .
Been using a lot of Kentmere 400 as well but nice to have more of the old favourite

When we were in Athens in 2017 we had a meal at a grill bar and this young lady , Conner Brooke was performing.
I made this pinhole portrait of her and only yesterday did I track her down via IG and email her a copy. She sent me a lovely thankyou email back.
