LRT the most common way to translate aibou is "partner" (a la Persona 4, Silent Hill F, etc)! It's such a cute characterization/relationship beat and I really miss it in English

The fact that the framing device for this short story is Th/ancred researching everything he can about Ranjit's life and exhausting everything he can in the process so the reason it's of note that the first Oracle's last words were never recorded is because Th/ancred was looking for them
