Nice if you can get it. University staff got 1.4% this year after 15 years of below inflation rises (excepting VCs of course, who have also done nicely)

Quite incredible this is even being discussed.
Quoting Charlie Kirk and Musk’s plans for us. And traitorous Farage as their way in.
All those moronic Brexiters calling for ‘control’ and ‘sovereignty’, now happy to be kicked around by American fascists.
It’s horrific and it must not happen.

My students this term have been *passionate* in their rejection of generative AI. I think the wildfires have something to do with it – the environmental impact of data centers, the scarcity of water, the terrible losses they’re seeing. . . it makes the ‘abstract’ of the climate crisis very real.

Hopefully a wake up call to the Government - some big concerns here that the CIC alone will not fix, welcome though it is. No mention in the article of the large elephant in the room - the measurement/audit culture that distorts so many good policy intentions
The Scottish Government are saying that they welcome this report from the Children's Commissioner, which (if you read it) is hugely critical of the government and the policies it currently calls an education reform programme. Very strange.

Government urged to act as children 'let down' by school system
A new report slams the "glacial" pace of progress and warns that current reforms are "fundamentally focussed on the wrong areas".
