My experience with this year's medical drama is v different from last year's - both in severity *and* in how connected I feel. The people were there for me last year, but I didn't know to trust that yet. I trusted it this year, and they've come through with prayers, visits, and practical help. ❤️

I want to use this as my apparently annual plug to stay aware and available for your local people as much as possible. Be the one someone wants to reach out to when they have an emergency or need support. Be trustworthy now, and in the crisis.

Umm hey! I had my appendix out Thursday evening. I'm home and recovering really well.

I'm sitting under a Bob Ross blanket sent by a friend, because internet friends are real friends. But I'm also looking at a bouquet brought by a local friend who coordinated getting my car back to my house.

I don't understand hearing someone say "I don't consume this mind altering substance" and immediately suggesting they try a different mind altering substance. You can just stop with "oh" and add a "kay" at the end.

That last part! The store said they'll have to clear their queue (the app was showing it ready at the pickup time) when it restarts, so I just won't be charged and I can try again (or physically go to the store).
