HECK YES BLUESKY HAS VIDEO 🎉

Allow me to share with the Bluesky crew my time lapse of inking #Storm. I am a mom and the primary childcare provider. I had to take care of my sick baby this day, so placed a toy in frame when I stepped away to do so.

Finishing up my #kintsugi classes today! One chipped sake cup, two chipped bowls, and one lacquered and golden tipped wooden spoon that my kids wanted so I bought it for them then they refused to use when it was just simple dry wood and stuck to their lips.

This is something the Nazis used to do to Jewish children in the camps. It happened to a man I knew when he was a child in Auschwitz. The camp guards thought it was funny as hell.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

Also. In early 2025, places in Montana jumped to force the Ten Commandments be placed in every public school classroom.

Anyway.
Hot damn that’s spot-on art.

I’m waiting in the car to see the doctor with my kid, who probably has strep throat.

These unpleasant moments are the only real time I have to chip away at personal pieces.

And y’all, this might be the first time I’ve opened this piece and actually liked it.

“Authoritarians tend to seize existing facilities while the government works on building new, more permanent structures. So you'll see stadiums, warehouses, racetracks, and the like commandeered to hold masses of people.”
“I’ve mentioned before that concentration camp regimes in their early stages often make use of large open infrastructure to convert into detention spaces. Dachau was converted from a shuttered factory into a concentration camp in 1933.”
When I got the contract to write a history of concentration camps in 2014, I hoped to keep the US from ending up here. That didn't work out! But now it's critical to understand how much is already in process and the enormity of what's coming. The sooner we act to stop it, the more people we'll save.

1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.

Hundreds of kids are still detained.

We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧵

Well, I suppose with hashtags like mine and not posting art every day, you would find me in the soup between professional creative industries. Just floating along.

Still, thanks for the following and sharing, fellow soups. 🍲 🍜 🥣

Animation and comics friends, I’d love to see pretty examples of limited color! all my skill points are in storyboard. my color points are very low. I’m trying to think of ways to do limited mostly flat color bgs in a way that would be fast and accessible to me. Open to suggestions!

Horrific.
Kelly Vargas writes about what happened to her, her husband, and their 6yo daughter in the family camp in Texas.

Filth, illness, medical abuse—her child has lasting complications from being injured by a staff member.

We don't know the half of what's happening in the camps, but we know enough.
My Daughter Lived the Liam Ramos Nightmare. It Turned Out Worse for Us.
The constant threats took a toll on my health. My daughter’s health deteriorated even faster.
