So GranolaAI reflects on my year:

"You made pixels feel guilty about their carbon footprint and successfully argued that a digital product isn't truly finished until it stops melting the ice caps."

Sounds like mission accomplished.

Baby steps:
„The world took another small step towards the phaseout of fossil fuels – a faltering, inadequate step, and one that will barely interrupt the climate’s steady march towards catastrophe. But a significant departure from total inaction nonetheless.

It took some oblique wording, but Saudi Arabia made a last-minute decision to sign deal that marks departure for Cop

„AI is not here to augment us, much less to replace us. Its most valuable role lies elsewhere: making the invisible visible. The invisible structures and correlations of the world. But also the invisible within ourselves.

Improving public transit is a climate solution! 🚎 Free buses “is not as sexy as something like solar. But these are the exact type of policies we’re going to need to actually address climate change, because it addresses people’s standards of living.” - Dan Jasper https://bit.ly/4nBOpoN
It was a very good election for the climate
In the first election of President Trump's second term, voters make it abundantly clear that they still care about climate action.

According to the UN, our Earth is heading for global warming of 2.8 degrees compared to pre-industrial levels by the end of century.
However, this is only assuming that countries implement their national climate protection plans (NDCs) as announced – otherwise, the situation could be even worse.

A standard holiday apartment made me realise: We’ve been trained to expect Instagram-worthy instead of functional.

#Airbnb started as sharing spare rooms, now it’s competing with boutique hotels. When did meeting basic needs become insufficient? Platform mission creep is real.
