This is just openly fascist but there are still no small number of people who think America is just going through a moment and it's because they've never been on the wrong side of its policies.

My AI company will be called LessHuman. Ping me startup cash.
The least interesting uses of the whole AI tech stack is in trying to make it more human. We solved making humans ages ago, really well. There are something like 8 billion of them in fact.
Because we already have things that make pictures and write stuff and create videos. They’re called………. ARTISTS. There is nothing interesting and novel and revolutionary about making shitty, derivative text or pictures unless you are incredibly incurious and easily impressed.

As @gregsargent.bsky.social points out, Trump *has* given illegal orders.

But he’s also so allergic to democratic ideals that the very idea of a military (or any other institution) that serves the people rather than the ruler is totally illegible and incomprehensible to him.

The question "soldiers should obey illegal orders" ultimately boils down to "should soldiers shoot and kill opponents of the regime when the pretend dictator commands them to do so?"

Whether they realize it or not, these people are arguing the regime should be allowed to kill political opponents.
BLITZER: I want to be precise. Should members of the US military obey clearly illegal orders?

McCLAIN: You're asking an enlisted person for their opinion on what they think is legal. That's a pretty slippery slope. Follow your commander in chief. That's the oath that you took

(Not a no!)

We keep damaging this complex system increasingly deranged ideas that we have any say over how it responds.
A 25-person startup is developing technology to block the sun and turn down the planet’s thermostat.

The stakes are huge — and the company and its critics say regulations need to catch up.

Labour's government has rendered the 'Terrorism Act' meaningless, using it against demonstrators and groups like Palestine Action. It's on Keir and his front bench directly, but also anyone in Labour's back benches not vocally opposing it. None of them deserve their seats if they'll let this slide.

The media doesn't treat the Trump regime's allegiances with neo-Nazis like Nick Fuentes as antisemitism, but Zohran's belief in Palestinian liberation is treated as antisemitism.

It's completely backwards and insane. Zohran will protect American Jews; the fascists will target American Jews.

Ukrainians getting the Palestinian treatment
Been driving for a couple hours. Just got online. Lemme see if I understand. US has been pushing a Ukraine plan for a few days. After some pushback, US Secy of State reveals that in fact it's a Russian plan that was presented to the US. Helluva a misunderstanding.

Restrictions on weapons and the army should be imposed on the aggressor.
The aggressor is Russia.
The attacker is Russia.
The one posing a danger is Russia.
To me, the current situation is very similar to February 2025: pressure, rigid deadlines, ultimatums for Ukraine as a "plan to end the war."

If we look at the 28 point plan that appeared in the media as a whole, it shows very clearly who's paying and who's collecting dividends.

Okay we all know this kind of sub-skeet just sends people down rabbit holes that lead nowhere good. It took me more effort, to find the search term and then the context and then be profoundly disturbed by both the result and effort required to reach it.
