In the ballot our 72% of members were in favour of strike action, and 90% in favour of action short of strike. Turnout was 58%.

Thank you to all members, reps and officials for helping us get the vote out.

Thank you @ducuuo.bsky.social comrades for returning this result.
We will not give up. We care about our university, our students and our city. It has been a very long time since anyone at the top did. That’s got to change.

The implication from Labour is that we, migrants, don't contribute enough, don't integrate enough, don't work enough.

Meanwhile I've volunteered in political activism for no pay, I've taken Gàidhlig evening classes, I make a living as an artist creating abstract renditions of Scottish landscapes.

Remember when UEG told us “there was no plan B” for further redundancies.

Now we know, from the published Recovery Plan, that at the same time they were proposing over 400 future job losses including over 350 redundancies.

We cannot trust their words.

Vote in our ballot now to protect jobs.

Painted this after some random troll sent me a message on Instagram saying my art "reeked of communist degeneracy", and I can't thank him enough for the high praise.

4 of the 5 criteria to define genocide have been confirmed by this report - two years of this madness unfolding before our eyes whilst our political class, particularly Starmer and his government, gaslight us.

This is a real tweet from the official account of the US Department of Energy.
"Wind and solar energy infrastructure is essentially worthless when it is dark outside, and the wind is not blowing."

The Scottish Government kicked out a proposal for 632 compulsory redundancies and that was replaced with 300 voluntary. Our interim principal submitted a "Recovery Plan" (aka evisceration) with over 400 more redundancies and said we were happy with it.

You said there would be no redundancies on national television.

Then confirmed on 1st July to 1000 staff and @thecourier.co.uk there is no Plan ‘B’ for redundancies.

Then six weeks later it’s revealed your failed “recovery plan” wanted 190 compulsory redundancies.

Oh no! We sold off literally everything we owned that was generating income and prestige, and now we have no income or prestige! Whomsoever could have seen that happening?

Amazing that when a distressed university's financial situation is subject to parliamentary hearings and an independent investigation, the senior leaders and governors resign and redundancies are called off.

We need this level of scrutiny for every university in England.

NO REDUNDANCIES at the University of Dundee.

Fantastic news in our fight to save jobs, as interim Principal Prof Nigel Seaton confirms that there will be no redundancies. A massive victory for everyone who has supported us.

Looking forward to receiving the removal of Section 188 in writing.

We are extremely concerned by the letter from Ernst and Young, auditors at the University of Dundee.

The letter suggests that executives submitted inaccurate responses during the auditing process.

A suicide hotline pushing "extreme gender ideology"? Riiiight...

Utterly soulless and spiteful.

Dehumanising already marginalised people with suicidal thoughts, wonderful idea 💔

Today I am ON STRIKE. I'm striking because the University of Edinburgh has claimed the need for 'savings' in staff costs amounting to £90 million. The Union estimates this to be more than 1000 staff. (Not because of everyone being on 90k+, but because of the attendant 'savings' from mass layoffs)
andyrewscotland.bsky.social
If only that were true! There are some of them who were involved in debacle still there!

Here’s what we got up to on Day 5 of our industrial action.

We heard about the important role that the staff from the Leverhulme Research Centre for Forensic Science play in trying to reduce drug deaths in Scotland.

And we welcomed back supporters and friends.
