It’s lovely, imagine 16th century glass even made by the masters could be a little wonky in that period but agree about the distortion and being under the influence.

Thank you 🙏🏼

Your poor Mum. It’s often a quick decision of what to include and regret afterwards isn’t it. I’ll see what happens 😊 I think they will go for a less abstract piece but it’s hard to predict people’s taste isn’t it. I’ve only put forward pieces that I could (just about ) bear to part with.

Imagine that’s one way of showing the beautiful colour of the wine. Can certainly see the circular ribs around the bowl of the glass.

Thanks Jan, it’s worth finding a local class if you can, it’s very satisfying. I love working with glass but have been neglecting my art these past few years. Think I’m gaining my equilibrium again finally.

A friend wants to buy a piece of my work. Haven’t made any in ages but had a few pieces they might like. Im selfishly hoping she doesn’t choose this one since I made it on a course in Bristol led by the lovely Chris Ainslie whose creativity, enthusiasm and encouragement knew no bounds.

Well it does. Also a fairly hefty chunk of Amnesiac. They even placed National Anthem appropriately. Good to bump into Mrs & @mrsnodes.bsky.social too 😊

But does it involve Goats?

So a couple of hours from now I’ll find out if the film Nosferatu does fit with Radiohead’s Kid A 🤔

Another excellent set of essays from Caught by the river. Hayden Thorpe writes a letter to Orford Ness

'What will the songs at the end of the world sound like?

Perhaps we’re singing them? Perhaps we won’t hear them.'

Not at all Michael. Oyster band possibly lots of solo and collaborations including The Silly Sisters with Maddy Prior, Martin Simpson. I’ve posted her fairly regularly on the Jukebox.

Thank you, yes, I’ll be there in London next Sunday 😊

It’s so lovely. I tend to put a couple of stitches in at the hinge end to hold my best brooches just in case. Also terrified of losing things like that.

It’s a perfect venue for their sound isn’t it. Very much looking forward to it.

Thanks Jools, yes it’s a good day. Hope yours has been good too.
Unfortunately I don’t think they often get much further north than Cardiff. It’s a rare event!

The big ones can get quite friendly.

Much more interactive than a spider. Hope that things align and another hound gets an excellent home with you.

By the way if you got a bookshop not too far away from Brighton and you want an event where I draw stuff with people and then sign books, let me know!
Here's my latest book about what happens when you make art by surprise (or even on purpose)

Extremely witty and often poignant. I do hope I get a chance to see / hear them live at some point. So glad you enjoyed it.

You had an excellent excuse. I’m envious.

All this talk of short stories is leading me to the local (independent) bookshop now! Someone in town has started a silent book club - it involves tea, cake, sit together and read in silence and I’m very invested in that.

Absolutely love short stories which maybe why Help the Witch appealed so much. Rose Tremain’s The Garden of the Villa Mollini and Susanna Clarke’s The Ladies of Grace Adieu have permanent places in my life. Look forward to seeing what you might do next.
