Had she been listening closely to Black women she would have had the last year to shore up her pantry, buying when there were discounts, using coupons, etc. Those who listened and *believed* are in better shape than most. Don’t begrudge someone for being smart and prepared.

I lost family members, I lost the career I’d wanted such I was a child, I lost friends of twenty plus years. What I got was to find my voice and live openly, a church community that affirms God in all, a wife who is my everything, & a life beyond my wildest dreams. Coming out was hard but glorious.
