I'm Asian and the morning I woke up after my cat died, my dad told me to stop crying because he "was so understanding the first day but now I had to stop or I was hurting her" (he's Buddhist). So the Asian parent not being understanding about the loss of a pet hit home for me too

Just wanted to say I cried a lot while reading it. I lost my cat (who I had for 13 years and was my first cat) last year and the theme of grief and love resonated with me. She wasn't just a cat; she was my rock of comfort and love. Thank you for making such a heartfelt comic!
