Today my @nytimes.com colleagues and I are launching a new series called Lost Science. We interview US scientists who can no longer discover something new about our world, thanks to this year‘s cuts. Here is my first interview with a scientist who studied bees and fires. Gift link: nyti.ms/3IWXbiE

As an academic, it is important to do service, including international service, such as for Scholars at Risk, including Ukrainians. Nice to even get recognized for one's work.

Wonderful Chancellor's Donors Breakfast event today in celebration of @umassamherst.bsky.social Homecoming! We sat with a couple, who graduated in the early 60s and met at UMass. Their stories of the campus then were fascinating with farm animals roaming and the dining food was not award-winning!
