“The worst thing it seemed to her, was to be dealing with one version of a person when quite another version existed out of sight.”
Terrifying indeed.

“You could spend your whole life, she said, trying to trace events back to your own mistakes…But there is another explanation, she said, which is simply that he is mad.”
This is true.
😂…so true, and yes, wonderful phrase.

Should I hold off until after the three books?
Mainly that these conversations/monologues feel too contrived. Everyone is too articulate, timely, open. I know we are only getting these stories filtered through the narrator’s perspective, but we don’t even know her name. I’m not convinced ‘everyone’ she happens to meet would divulge in this way.

$170B for ICE and Border Patrol
$40B for Argentina
$1B to refurbish Trump's Qatar jet
$230M for Trump's DOJ "compensation"
$200M for Kristi Noem's jets
$98M for Trump's golf outings

But no money to lower your healthcare costs.
Beware of lovebombing. 😬😈
Yes. There is something not sitting quite right with me re:the narrator and these stories. I’m not trusting her or believing her at this point.
Love your description. For me, it is both. It is why I typically see my favorite musicians (and most all symphony productions) alone. I can be totally immersed (without needing to account for anyone else’s experience). Same with favorite art exhibitions. Next tier I have fun with others though.

A picture book is a deceptively complex object: Ideally, it should be mind-expanding, psychologically astute, vividly illustrated, and—the most elusive criterion—fun. Here are 65 essential titles, chosen by The Atlantic:

Ahh, to be able to play the piano with such grace. ❤️
I paused at that sentence too. But I would argue that music is a processor of thoughts, feelings, events — and a healer of the soul. (Once again) I’m reminded that how we see/interpret something tells us more about ourselves than anything else.

The average age of U.S. homebuyers is now 56, up from 49 last year.

In 1981, the year trickledown economics began, it was 31.

“…a person observing these events, she said, from across the road, could not have guessed, simply by seeing and hearing, what the story really was.”
True. We bring our own feelings, experiences (and projections) to the situations we encounter.
