In a darkened room lit by candlelight, a pair are in the throes of a heated kiss. Gene has Veritas against the wall, he's holding her leg up and pulling it around his waist as her skirts bunch up about her waist. She's pulling at his hair as they kiss, tucked away in a far off room. Voices call from down the halls, pulling the pair from their spell. They stare at one another, faces still close, still entangled in each other's arms. The party beyond the walls of their hiding place a party is in full swing, yet they remain in hushed silence. Gene has released Veritas's leg, though he still holds tight to her as she to him. They almost seem reluctant lovers not wanting to part. Part the pair do; Veritas is closest in the frame, a smirk on her lips as she responds to the hunting party beyond. She is calm, serene as she walks away from Gene who is still behind her, lingering against the wall with his head down. In the final shot, it is a close up of Gene. His face is full of seething rage, glaring at the wall he is leaning against. While Veritas was well kept and put together, Gene is the opposite. His hair is in a disarray, his mouth and neck are smeared with the dark lipstick from Veritas. A moment of weakness now weighs on him as he realizes what they have done.
