I actually haven't met too many people who can share these types of memories with me, which is frustrating, but when I do get a chance to cross-check stories with someone, the overlapping details are rarely the quotidian or ritual aspects of the whole affair. They're about...the other stuff.

The supposedly secular summer camps I attended were, despite that secularity, relatively Jewish places, and that's worth examining on its own.

They were also a space where lots of bizarre sex and gender dynamics played out in unexpected and obviously problematic ways; also worth discussing.

I have avoided reading Sandra Fox's "The Jews of Summer" because I'm scared of being retraumatized in a way, but I think a lot of the knowledge and memories of these institutions is relatively clandestine and there's specific reasons for that, which are worth addressing out loud.

I think I need to write an essay about being a Jewish kid in the American northeast, attending summer day and sleepaway camps.

Curiosity and introspection are blatantly anathema to Christians. It's so fucking boring.

Lore is nothing. Lore is what you make when you’re avoiding making art. Don’t make lore. Lote sucks.
February 10, 2026 at 3:44 PM
In a list of things I’ve radically changed my opinion on, I have grown to detest “lore” the very most.

I’m awake on time which means I’m actually going to start streaming when I mean to! Like 9 PST! LFG!!!

everything i hear about the choices made with yakuza 3 kiwami makes me think about the director of the original silent hill movie whose reaction to harry mason was "this guy cares an awful lot about his daughter? that's - kinda gay. i don't get it."

Sequel to Footloose where years later everyone in Bomont has been dancing so much their feet all broke and needed to be amputated.

And don't fucking tell me I'm being paranoid by thinking the government is interested in compiling lists of known trans people. My birth certificate is issued by the State of Texas

To repeat.

And to repeat:

The political faction saying we must all have to log legal ID before speaking or accessing speech on the Internet,

and the political faction who believe transgenderism is a dangerous mental contagion that spreads by speech about transgenderism,

are the same faction.
Age verification is deanonymization,
Deanonymization is censorship.

The Supreme Court is now taking away your right to anonymously *read* a form of speech. If speaking can mean that your readers have to subject themselves to potential consequences to read it, how can there be freedom of speech?
NEW: In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court held that age verification for explicit sites is constitutional. The majority said it protects minors without violating free speech; dissenters warned it burdens adults’ rights and ignores First Amendment precedent.

Still mad about this and still think musicians are an under-oppressed class.
A drummer today tried to insist there was a non-subjective rationale for drummer’s perspective panning and I cannot get over how unrelenting angry that made me.
