Late day shot after 3.5 hrs plying & skeining off (skeining is quick thanks to a partially restored click reel). Stats: 3ply woolen-ish, 159g, 224 wraps - length TBD. It’s more than my elbow tendons like though & if they’d say something during, I would stop earlier.

A month and a half in and finally ready to ply. This is 163ish grams of sorely abused rolags from 2020 (merino/romney fleece from 2017). Based on that, the 789g main event will take me about 7.5 months. #spinning #handspun #handspinning

Bluesky isn’t a habit yet. My first handspun socks. I’ve found over time that despite being mostly a down breed (southdown/jacob cross) they haven’t held up to shoes. A lot of work went into the socks so learning duplicate stitch to mend. New yarn is bfl/nylon & the stitches are getting more even as I go. #knitsky #handspun

Grocery night. That means a little spindle time. Had a chaperone so I got to spin in the car too.

I designed the arms in CAD & 3D printed them then turned a shaft on the lathe to match. The fibre was supposed to be red when I dyed it but turned that strange muted purple/pink colour. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's weird starting on a new platform. I assume folks know me but no one does. As a "get to know me", here's something I do recreationally. It's the 3rd supported spindle I ever turned & it's technically garbage. It's also the spindle I spun an entire lace shawl on. #spinning #handspinning #knitting

A lazy afternoon hiding from the wind and cold. Our feline boy decided he wanted to spend the day in the spinning room. The plan this year is to spin one fleece. This is a romney/merino that I picked up in 2017, then processed in 2020. The rolags are (1/3)

Twist set, labelled, entered into my “stash tracker”. 4058ish yds in 2024. Way more than expected considering the house move. Heavily biased toward natural fibre colours because of that Shetland fleece destined for a ring shawl. This year, a flax UFO & Merino Romney fleece. #spinning #yarn #knitting

This is the Shaniko cardigan pattern from @stolenstitches.bsky.social as of 2024-12-29. Stopped shortly after at suggestion of physio to heal both elbows damaged in the renos and the subsequent move. Plan to take it back up soon if I stop re-injuring in new renos (almost finished). #knitting
