Interviewed Christian Eriksen last week in Wolfsburg.

Spoke to his old school teacher in 2018 for a story I wrote on him, so rang him up last week. Told me how in 2022 when he was suffering from a cancer he's now recovered from, CE got in touch the day before a 🇩🇰 game just to check in on him. 🥹

This whole thing is so, so depressingly basic. If Farage’s clear and persistent bigotry had ever been taken seriously we would never have heard of him, but now we have to sit and wait for millions of voters - including his own - to realise that his bigotry will be a disaster for them too.

Nigel Farage has been condemned by the UK’s main Jewish groups and MPs for repeatedly using language and themes associated with far-right antisemitic conspiracy theories, something for which he has been previously criticised.

The Board of Deputies of British Jews said Farage’s airing of claims about plots to undermine national governments, and his references to Goldman Sachs and the financier George Soros, showed he was seeking to “trade in dog whistles”.
