"I read this post and realized something profound about AI and it's not what you think"
So we raised $10.7m to build a new professional platform oriented around high-trust networked group chats in large part because I think we're better as a species than "six business lessons I learned on my trip to Cancun".

LinkedIn chose creators over collaboration, so we raised $10.7M to build for innovation not attention
We build in fluid networks not silos. We need a platform that believes external collaboration is about more than performative content.

One big thing we open-sourced as part of that were new Uniffi bindings between Rust and React Native hacks.mozilla.org/2024/12/intr... that we just extended to Wasm. It means people on the matrix protocol can now have all their business logic in rust and then use RN across mobile and desktop.

Uniffi for React Native: Mozilla and Filament's open-source tool lets you build high-performance Modules in Rust.

This is a defensive, 10-post thread from an NYT boss, and the only thing it truly illuminates is the need for the Times to bring an independent journalist back into the role of public editor.
Our assistant managing editor for Standards and Trust, Patrick Healy, posted on X today in response to feedback on our recent reporting on Zohran Mamdani.

I'm sure they save lives but whomever decided that smoke detectors should be interconnected and bleep at random when any one of them has a problem should have received a sound thrashing.

Andrew Cuomo is afraid he'll lose, so his donors want you to fear me.

His SuperPAC just sent out a mailer that artificially lengthened and darkened my beard.

This is blatant Islamophobia—the kind of racism that explains why MAGA billionaires support his campaign.
Welcome to your elder statesmen of the internet era, Dave
Now classifying people into Internet eras based on whether they know the 'I like the moon' video
It's really hard to defend the healthcare system in the United States when going on an IV for one hour when brought to an ER is charged at $2,400.
"Claude found and fixed that nasty notification bug!"
"Yay!"
"We're pretty sure Claude created the bug in the first place"
"So we're coming out even!"
You must have a very low opinion of NPR to have got that one right

What has the journalism school done to oppose this?
I think my wife's favorite is when at restaurants I order a side of mushrooms and explain to the waitstaff it's because I'm a 'fun guy'. 17 years of hilarity from that one.
Oh I was being completely serious, you can ask my wife
It’s important to say this consistently through at least the first 15 years of marriage to really unlock the full humor
Just asked for one for my birthday, keen to see how it compares. I’ve bought every new kindle up through the oasis, but feels like no longer the right choice
