Can it really be twenty-five years ago since the news broke about a terrorist attack on a United States Navy warship?

Not to mention that it makes the real horrors invisible. Which is AI's ultimate advantage for all the horrible people in the world. If everything can be fake, then nothing is true. Doubt is their best ally. Let's not participate in it.

My German grandmother, a war refugee, emigrated to Chicago. She learned how to speak English watching WGN.

When I visited we’d watch WGN every night. Never thought I’d see one of its producers brutalized & arrested by masked US govt thugs.

My mom & grandparents fled Germany bc of this same shit.

The mystery of medical diagnosis!
Anyone: Why are there suddenly so many AHDH diagnoses?
Dr. Jen: Same reason there are suddenly more stars after we built telescopes.

"We all like what we like and don't what we don't."

How many times have I had to explain on Twitter what I understood when I was 7 years old? 😅

In fact, I have far fewer problems about it here, which makes me think that the people who made the move are a bit least egocentric.

It's been a few years since I asked this question: what is your favorite Battlestar Galactica (the ship, not the show)? 👋

Can't wait to buy it. And I mean that. I have a Fulmar-size hole in my collection of FAA combat aircraft and carrier library.

Oh, I did have a very nice Babylon 5 Omega destroyer model. But it was unable to stand against "Wife-with-duster"(TM). It's now in a dozen pieces in a box somewhere ...

Heh, same.
I have only sunk my money into a handful of nice replicas.
Both Galacticas, Pegasus, An original Viper, A Viper MkII - and Sulaco.

It's a hard call. But I'll go with the original.
She has an "old lady" feel about her. The tired old veteran that - thanks to her outmoded analogue technology - survived everything "modern" warfare could throw at her...
(No, I don't think Trump's idea of reactivating WW2 battleships is a good one!)

Navigation and the need for a dedicated recon spotter.
The biggest problem for fleets before and during the war was not simply locating the enemy. It was also accurately reporting where it was. This needed math, and accurate observations along the way.

I wouldn't go so far as "dead end".
Just "slightly before and after its time"
Two seat strike aircraft became the norm from the 50s to the 90s ...

I cannot understand why, but I just love these old jugs.
As an Aussie, we tend to go for "the underdog". But the Fulmar isn't even that. It's just plain old "good enough".

Another day feeling like I'm going backwards. Still struggling with a new publisher for the Fulmar book. It will happen but getting the same kind of deal I originally signed up to is proving tougher than I thought. Here's a colour scheme you won't have seen before - N1854 in temperate land scheme

#OTD in 1942, during zig-zag maneuvers, ocean liner Queen Mary, carrying around 10,000 American soldiers, struck HMS Curacoa amidships at full speed, cutting the cruiser in half. 101 crew survived, 337 died. (The incident was not publicly reported during the war.) #WW2 #HISTORY

Enrico Cernuschi and Michele Gaetani will talk tonight about ‘secrets of the admiralty’ which will, I suspect, based on the files the asked me to copy for them, focus very much on how the British Admiralty gilded the lilly in regards to damage inflicted on Royal Navy vessels by the Regia Marina.

26th September 1939. The first British aerial victory of the Second World War was scored by a Blackburn Skua of 803 Naval Air Squadron from HMS Ark Royal. Though the type was primarily a dive bomber, it was armed with four wing guns and also served as an interim FAA fighter.
