Serving humanity as a passionate global leader to achieve equality and justice for all. President of Drum Major Institute.
117 years ago, the NAACP was founded by a rainbow coalition of organizers who believed in true equality.

Justice for all people requires all hands on deck. The NAACP was created at a time when racial equality was highly unpopular, but they persisted anyway. #BlackHistoryMonth

All across this nation, we've witnessed young people standing up to the rise of fascism. History has shown us that it was always the young people at the forefront of change.

Their courage is contagious, and their tenacity is endless.

W.E.B. Du Bois championed women’s rights, and his words still resonate. In “The Damnation of Women,” he wrote: “The future woman must have a life, work, and economic independence. She must have knowledge. She must have the right of motherhood at her own discretion.”
W.E.B. Du Bois was a scholar, activist, and co-founder of the NAACP who advanced a bold vision for civil rights. He argued for higher education, political participation, and direct challenges to inequality. This #BlackHistoryMonth, we honor his intellectual leadership and lasting influence.

I'm always inspired by women and mothers who have gone through the toughest moments that any of us could imagine, and yet every single day still working for all of us. It's those women who give me the most inspiration, hope, and strength.

The most important thing about a person is not the texture of their hair or the color of their skin, but the texture and quality of your soul.

This revolution will not begin in legislation or the streets; it must be awakened in the soul. Do not sleep through this great revolution.

Donald Trump’s post attacking President Obama and Michelle Obama is not just another offensive outburst—it is a deliberate distraction. 🧵👇
President Donald Trump used his social media account to share a video about election conspiracy theories that includes a racist depiction of former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, as primates in a jungle. https://to.pbs.org/45NPsfd

Renee Good's brothers delivered a powerful testimony on the legacy of love she lived and spread to others.

Renee's life is an example of how we should all act. We must become light among the darkness and have an unwavering belief that tomorrow can be better than today.

In Dr. King’s last book, “Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?” He warned that there can be no genuine progress for African Americans “unless the whole of American society takes a new turn toward greater economic justice.”

One of the first examples of feminine power that I think of is Coretta Scott King. On the 20th anniversary of her passing, I'm inspired by the way she carried the movement forward for her children with courage, love, and vision, & by our responsibility to continue her work for generations to come.🌹

On this day, we remember Mahatma Gandhi—not only the manner of his death, but the immensity of his life and the moral force he released into the world.

Gandhi taught us that love is not weakness, that truth is not passive, and that nonviolence is not surrender—

The youth of today are not waiting to inherit a world they believe in. They're rolling up their sleeves and putting themselves on the front line to design it.
TODAY: Thousands at UCLA walk out of class, calling for solidarity with Minnesota and to demand ICE out of California. The walkout was organized by UCLA’s student government along with the Afrikan Student Union and other student clubs and organizations.

“Freedom is won with every generation.” That’s not just a quote, it’s our mandate.

While democracy hangs in the balance, I still have hope in this fight, especially when I see all the courageous individuals making their voices heard.
Birmingham was not merely a city in crisis. It was a mirror held up to the soul of America. Today, that mirror stands before us again in Minneapolis, where recorded truths force us to choose between moral courage and silence.

Today we honor the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a man whose life was devoted to love in action. Honor his birthday not just in words, but by living his legacy through service, compassion, and the ongoing work of building the Beloved Community.

History on repeat.

In 1967, Beth Israel Synagogue was bombed by the KKK for standing with Black Mississippians. Nearly 60 years later, the same synagogue was targeted again in an arson hate crime.

Hate resurfaces when history is ignored. We must confront it together.

I've was blessed to be mentored by C.T. Vivian and Anne Braden during my time at the Center for Democratic Renewal.

Carrying forward their legacy of movement-building through the Drum Major Institute is how change endures across generations and how lasting change is made.

Values and beliefs form the navigation system for our living legacy. These are what guide our habits and align us with our purpose.

When you're considering your "why" for your life, start with naming your values to discover your purpose in the world.

People who don't know their history are condemned to repeat it. Education has always been the backbone of every justice movement. It's how we pass down truth and prepare the next generation to lead. Sharing knowledge is one of the simplest yet most profound acts of service.
