Oh great. I was just thinking about West Nile as I sat at the Broadside last night in shorts and a T-shirt getting bitten by mosquitoes the whole time I was there.
If you still need to do shopping at Costco right now is actually a pretty good time to go. It’s not super crowded by Costco standards and parking is not that difficult. I only needed to pick up dinner rolls and was in and out in five minutes.

OK, I wanna make a few things clear about the hotline cause I keep getting questions. It is not in indivisible New Orleans that is responsible for it. There’s a coalition of 30+ organizations around town who have been working on this for weeks and helping to staff it. It is voice only, no texts.

every business in new orleans needs to have this or something similar prominently displayed to push back against the impending ICE/CBP onslaught and be ready to get their undocumented workers/patrons into that area if they hear the whistles or see ICE/CBP nearby. #nolasky

and here's the relevant info about the whistles from the group in chicago that distributes them. i got mine in a whistle kit from Unión Migrante. also comes with a Know Your Rights card in English/Spanish.

also sharing this, for those of you who probably won't ever come to a meeting or get on a signal or whats app chat for iNOLA or Unión Migrante. this is from UM and details what you should do if/when you see ICE/CBP activity. for now, until a hotline gets set up, send them a DM on FB or IG.
