I've recently embarked on a journey pushing myself into a new learning challenge: building and emulating an " #OS " from the hardware up using #TypeScript, with a focus on understanding the #NT Architecture that underpins #Windows

Small technical write up on a recently completed and fairly simple #CTF over at picoCTF.

I wanted to go the extra mile and do it on #Windows - fun little #CyberSecurity exercise to translate some simple #Linux commands we take for granted over to #PowerShell.

Yesterday, I decided to revisit some of my earlier projects.

Dusted off some of my "early" code to get this functional and ready to share.

I hope it brings back some joy and memories! 😅

💻🔒 Today I tackled JSON Web Tokens 🔒💻

What started as a simple authentication system to streamline my app's data management turned into an insightful journey through React Router, JWTs, Client/Server-Side Authentication—and more.

I've been building an OSRS inspired browser based idle game.

I just crossed the 100th item threshold, barely scratching the surface.

It's been a great learning journey so far.

I spent some time setting up a Dokuwiki yesterday.

Good little project to help keep a track of documentation, notes and thoughts.

Blast from the past.

I remember playing Lemmings, Worms, Word Rescue, Lion King and Alladin.

Good times.
Lemmings, Amiga version.
One of the most popular games of 1991, and it was a very good year overall

I had the pleasure of learning about media law and radio broadcasting from an 84 year old legend today.

Cherish the elderly and the wisdom they can impart.

It was eye opening and humbling.

If you haven't read the story of Notepad++

You should read the story of Notepad++

I spent my day reading about making the web accessible and revisited my early projects trying to fix errors I overlooked.

The biggest point I took away from it all.

"You're not the user".

Poignant and important in my design philosophy moving forward.

Linux is extremely accessible these days and should be on more systems! Gotta love stories like this.
I'll second Mint. My neighbor, a 75-year old retired man who won't/can't upgrade to Windows 11.

Two months layer the guy was asking me about aliases commands and had voice commands working. He also linked his hearing aid to the system.

Check out this video on how 8 Sleep mattresses might not be the best when it comes to the data being captured and sent back.

Yes, you read that right — a mattress that can ping back telemetry.
