I was in the Grape-Tree wholefoods store in the Haymarket this afternoon, stocking up on dried fruit, nuts, herbs and spices, when I saw they had bags of cooked chestnuts on offer, 2-for-the-price-of-1. I'd never eaten chestnuts so I bought some. They're vile! Straight in the bin! 🤮

I was introduced to this lamp-post in 1985. It stands in the middle of Parker's Piece in Cambridge, where two paths cross. Back then 'Reality Checkpoint' was scratched into the paintwork. It's a near-certainty that I was quite stoned at the time.
