Regulation is like a necessary evil, that protects consumers, shareholders, workers, the environment etc., but makes it more difficult for businesses..

We need to find the right balance between regulations and ease of doing business. , and also crack down on corruption like Singapore has done ..

The cocktail of chemicals added in the form of artificial flavours and preservatives, stripping away of essential minerals and fibers during processing, leaching of microplastics from packaging into the food - i guess they all contribute in some measure to cause cancer and other diseases as well..

With 38% of Russia's refining capacity affected by Ukrainian drone strikes, leading to fuel shortages and requiring import of petrol and diesel... Putin is getting desperate and lashing out with a shadow war against Europe, to get better terms in negotiations..

It can escalate dangerously though..!

They have what it takes - caring for the common man, sensible policies, courage to stand up for it, consistent over a long period and an ability to articulate the positions clearly..

For those who want alternatives to big tech, there is now an indian app that can be used in addition to whatsapp.

It is called Arattai.

Have installed it and hope it can catch on. We need multiple providers to avoid dependence on 2 or 3 tech hegemons.

With the US abdicating its role as security guarantor of friendly nations.., Japan, S Korea, and Eastern European countries will also start looking to build their own deterrence and new security partnerships..

Military expenses will go up, instead of spending on education, health care etc..

Ukraine gave up its 2000 strategic nukes & 3000 tactical nukes to Russia, at the prodding of the US, in return for security guarantees on sovereignty and territorial integrity, from the US, UK and Russia.

It would be helpful if the journalists can publish a picture of the cockpit area, showing the fuel cut-off valve and other controls near it.

I am sure other dreamliners (belonging to the same production year) have the same cockpit controls.

I think Russia also is struggling, having lost over 200k Russian lives, 600k injured, depleted Societ stockpiles, and oil infrastructure regularly targeted. It is a bleak scenario for both countries right now.

But I believe that the Ukrainians are more motivated, as they are fighting for freedom.

Right now it seems Putin and Netanyahu can do whatever they want, with impunity

However, Ukraine has knocked out about 25% of Russia's refining capacity, in addition to attacking oil storage, pipeline, export terminals etc.

Putin cannot sustain for long like this, hence the threat of escalation.

Increased unemployment will result in reduced consumer spending, which will result in lowering production, and more layoffs.... causing a vicious cycle..

So corporate profits and the overall economy will be negatively affected ( hopefully) leading to reduced popularity of the leader...
