using that when I butt in on many conversations between men about women to just remind them: yo women aren’t some alien species. We’re just people. But the thing that throws me for a loop is having to remind myself of the opposite when I find men strange!

issues and cultured history. And I know this sounds like “well duh, is this new to you?” Well, no, but I still think about it a lot. A lot of problems come from “othering” people, and the more we look at someone different for whatever reason—say, gender/sex like this is about—and the more we see

you stop thinking of another gender as an “other” and more just “other circumstances,” it’s easier to just see the person beneath, and I personally get this feeling of oneness, of unity, where I can briefly plant myself in someone’s shoes and see that they’re mostly just like me, just with different
