To those of you that sent me something on Ko-Fi yesterday, thank you. A lot of my own funds go into quietly helping fund the arts or into mutual aid whenever I can. It’s nice when some of that makes it back to me when I need it and is affirming that I’m seen and not alone in this.

One of my friends insisted that I had to push through to make my stories. While I sit here in the middle of a move to DC that’s had roadblock after roadblock, a major career leap of faith across states, and watching the publishing industry tilt, I wonder if I’m just not built to just do it.

I ended up creating little alternate universe rpg characters of my partner and I once I felt safer in the relationship. There was a part of me that thought drawing ppl I cared about doomed the relationship to fail, but we’re headed into year 4 and have another partner as well.

Allow me to be a sap for a moment to share with yall the doodles from when my partner and I first got together. I was going through a lot of tumult and struggled to express myself in ways he could 100% understand (despite being blunt) and would doodle things to bridge the gaps.
