The Kem Kem is home to a few basal snakes (with little baby legs!), mostly known from vertebrae. Most are quite small, but I've chosen two of the potentially larger ones - the terrestrial Norisophis, and the aquatic Simoliophis.

Result from the Mammoth Site #paleostream! This has been our first mammoth steppe formation stream, dwelling into some the classic giants of the Pleistocene. This site in South Dakota offered a unique opportunity is that is has so much stuff preserved in situ that we can...

Dinovember Glow Up #30 - Compsognathus

The final day of Dinovember, and we finish with a Compsognathus leaping into the air. It's been a lot of fun revisiting these prompts and I'm very happy with how these glow ups turned out. Happy Dinovember!

For how famous the original Walking with Dinosaurs made it, Ornithocheirus is a very messy genus, with over 40 species assigned to it historically. Nowadays, only one species of Ornithocheirus remains, known from the UK and the Kem Kem (maybe!).

Dinovember Glow Up #29 - Giganotosaurus

Our penultimate glow up goes to Giganotosaurus, which we see here charging and bellowing in an aggressive threat display. Only one to go now...

Dinovember Glow Up #28 - Tyrannosaurus

Today we join a father Tyrannosaurus enjoying some quality bonding time with his juvenile daughter. Soon she will be old enough to go it alone, so best enjoy these moments while they can.

Dinovember Glow Up #27 - Centrosaurus

A more intense day today, as a pair of male Centrosaurus get into a fight, the flock of enantiornithines atop the younger male's back scattering.

Dinovember Glow Up #26 - Deinonychus

Today gives us a Deinonychus cleaning off its' talons after a particularly messy feeding. The original piece used a lot of inspiration from birds of prey, and hopefully that's even more apparent now.

Dinovember Glow Up #25 - Spinosaurus

Today the legendary, and equally controversial, Spinosaurus patrols the waterways, punting along the bottom of a shallower river. Hopefully a nice intermediate between wading and swimming.

Dinovember Glow Up #24 - Barosaurus

Today we have a true colossus; an utterly enormous Barosaurus. Whether it is truly 50 metres long or not is up to you, but either way the pterosaurs around it look as small as insects.

Dinovember Glow Up #23 - Parasaurolophus

Today we are tootin' as a male Parasaurolophus bugles in the chilly early morning air. P. tubicen doesn't get nearly as much attention as the other two species.

Dinovember Glow Up #22 - Microraptor

Today we have a Microraptor finishing up preening its' shiny, iridescent plumage. Think the iridescence turned out a lot better than before.

Dinovember Glow Up #21 - Pachycephalosaurus

Today we have a Pachycephalosaurus taking a break from veggies by snacking on an unfortunate Chamops. I thought it was time to do a full-grown adult of this animal after only doing subadults before.

Dinovember Glow Up #20 - Psittacosaurus

Two thirds of the way now, and today we mark that with a young adult Psittacosaurus tending to some unruly babies. The older animal is not the parent, but a babysitting older sibling.

Dinovember Glow Up #18 - Diplodocus

Today we have Diplodocus on a stroll, accompanied by an entourage of pterosaurs. This one was inspired by @tessasaurus.bsky.social's studies on Diplodocus skin. Also look out for a small easter egg from my wife.

Dinovember Glow Up #17 - Iguanodon

Today we have a bull Iguanodon relaxing under the base of a tall tree. As my favourite dinosaur, Iguanodon is one I always want to do justice, and I'm quite happy with how this one turned out.
