Such awful news and my condolences to his family and friends. I’m so glad we had the chance to catch the Mavericks open for Dwight Yoakum this past year at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. They put on an amazing show.

This isn't "qualification", it's allocation of leftover teams (no offence to said teams). US Soccer, MLS, et al, should be looking to grow this important historic tournament not diminish it. For the second season running the defending champion won't get to defend their title.

Wylam played Pratt City in a Thanksgiving Day tilt in Birmingham, Alabama on Nov. 28, 1918, winning 1-0. The match marked a return of soccer in the city after a wartime hiatus & organizers collected donations to benefit the local chapter of the Red Cross.
