I never want this to be as timely as it is, but with every passing day (esp this last week) I'm really grateful that the membership of
@atxfilmcritics.bsky.social passed a statement on AI usage this year. It's on our Awards Page, and it's one I'm proud we support. austinfilmcritics.org/afca-awards/
The AFCA is pleased to announce six new members joining our roster this year. A warm welcome to them all!

THE LIFE OF CHUCK. A slow cooking balm for the soul. Just a perfectly poignant, elegantly uplifting, and wonderfully wrought work. #thelifeofchuck

THE LIFE OF CHUCK is a masterpiece, a life affirming jolt straight to the heart that you must see. Absolutely floored. Bravo, @mikeflanaganfilm.com.

You can have the highest expectations and still have them miraculously surpassed. Achingly intimate yet so ambitious in scope, so full of joy and kindness even when everything’s at its darkest. Like a hug from the universe before stepping boldly into the unknown. What a film, @mikeflanaganfilm.com.
The air is electric here at Alamo Lamar. Been waiting for this one for over a year now!! #LifeofChuck

LILO & STITCH is solid stuff! One of the better Disney remakes I've seen.

Also God Bless Billy Magnussen for embracing his place in the Disney Himbo pantheon, he's delightful.
Doing a Disney thing this evening.

#LiloandStitch keeps the charm and fun of the original and adds an expanded focus on family that gives it a modern and relatable angle. Probably the best live action Disney adaptation yet.
Thanks to everyone who joined us for our special screening of SING SING today, and again to the good people at AFS Cinema for hosting us.
