The president has gone to war with his own citizens to punish them for the crime of not voting for him. He’s a scumbag dictator and he deserves all the appropriate remedies.

1. ICE should not exist. It is a burden morally and financially.

2. QR codes are easily damaged with markers.

3. Many people do not possess a smart phone.

4. ICE will cover codes as police do with badge numbers.

5. QR codes are nearly impossible to scan while in motion.

6. You ain't slick.
I am introducing the Quick Recognition (QR) Act, which requires ICE and CBP officers to wear uniforms featuring QR codes. When scanned, the code would generate a digital ID displaying the officer’s name, badge number, and law enforcement agency.

ICE should be unmasked both physically and digitally.

Happy to have been briefly quoted on @kutnews.bsky.social this morning as an Austin film critic critical of the Alamo Drafthouse's (@alamodrafthouse.bsky.social) shift to mobile-only ordering

Today on Texas Standard: Austin women’s skateboarding group builds space and community
Most of us lead busy lives, so it can be difficult to find the time for our hobbies. But a group of women skateboarders in Austin take that challenge head on, one kick push at a time.

A legion of ghouls and monsters. Abolishment of ICE and prosecution of ever single agent is the only solution.

A protester is currently lying in a hospital bed with a piece of shrapnel in his neck 7mm from his carotid artery.

While he lay bleeding on the pavement, blinded in his left eye, gasping for air, agents did not call a medic. They dragged him and sneered: "You're going to lose your eye."

Just had what, my 5th viewing or so, and I wasn’t expecting to be as head over heels for a Koji Shiraishi movie this much this fast. He’s truly pushed himself into new territory with About a Place in the Kinki Region.

This is appalling: Top DOJ officials are actively pushing for a criminal investigation into the widow of Renee Good, leading prosecutors to quit en masse, NYT is reporting.

Who in the White House ordered DOJ to do this? That's the next thing to establish.

Absolute lawlessness.

And basically no way to sue Fed agents for bad behavior like this, SCOTUS keeps narrowing it, and Gorsuch said the whole line of cases should be tossed. Which is appalling as well.

As is Congress’s decades-long failure to confront this (bc they can create the right to sue).
take a second to really wrap your head around this.

The latter part of this tweet has gone under the radar but it's an alarming escalation. The Trump admin has already detained dozens of people with full refugee status, seemingly those who had not yet adjusted to green cards, and is detaining them in Texas and seeking to strip them of their status.
Update: Since Jan 9, there have been 12 ICE Air flights out of Minneapolis, MN—a jump from the typical 3 flights/week to Minneapolis. This surge is taking place as people with valid refugee status are being taken from their homes in MN & transferred to detention centers in TX.

I hope that the Alamo Drafthouse will continue to hold true to its no-phones policy to preserve the overall guest experience, while testing any new improvements that ensure equity of accessibility for their guests and continued employment of their workers. 2/2

This is in response to an FAQ in progress for Alamo's criticized pivot to a phones-only ordering system, including during the film itself.

This is wholly antithetical to the Drafthouse experience, and raises serious questions about labor/staffing and equity/accessibility issues. 1/
