I actually don’t know that this is true. It depends on the issue. The electorate is souring on hard left positions on immigration and social issues but economically they’re consistently pro social safety net.

That's the toughest part; cleaning out the leadership. They're entrenched, not term-limited, have a captured electorate in their home districts.
