Completely unrelated to any TV shows that might currently be very popular, if I were to watch hockey during the olympics, which teams are the most interesting to keep up with?

Ever since I learned that the little hat on top of vowels in French used to be an s I keep trying to find the equivalent English word that still has the s, like:
Hôtel - Hostel
Hôpital - Hospital
Forêt - Forest
Pâtiserie - Pastry

I don't want to look up a wordlist, I just like

On my endless quest to not include christianity into my fantasy novel I have realised today that I technically can't use "to fall from grace" as an expression... I think I'm gonna let this one slip through the cracks though 😮‍💨

(Except if someone has a good alternative for me)

Last year I read over 60 books (well, listened to the vast majority of them) and I think that's over the maximum I can take emotionally. It just feels like it overfills my brain to constantly be in a new fictional story??? I think I need to reread more old books this year 😔

Sometimes I have to remember that I'm talking to 6 year olds at work and that they do not understand the legal difference between a marriage and a civil partnership and also that they do not remember the lockdown...

With the most recent twitter exodus, this is a reminder for #audiodrama folks to reach out to me to be added to the Audio Drama Feed, with the understanding that no element of your production is touched by genai.

We have Wyll in our party and all I could think about is how fashion has to change when you have such giant horns on your head. Like, you can't really pull any shirt over your head, everything has to be a vest.
Also, how does he sleep?? Does he need one of those neck raising wooden 'pillows'?
Spent my second Christmas Day playing probably over 12 hours of Baldur's Gate 3 with my boyfriend, perfect waste of a day

Out of all the places doing a year-in-review thing I really didn't need my banking app to make one to tell me how much money I've spent this year ☠️☠️☠️

I set out a manga recommendation box in the library so the kids could tell me what they want to read and why has more than 1 written down GTO? 😭 Why do these 10yo know about GTO?? It came out 15 years before they were born, is it really still this popular that kids know about it ??

Idk if this is a controversial opinion but the older I get the more I feel like we're babying children just a bit too much, in the sense that we're scrubbing their media of 'bad' stuff too much. Found a picture book version of Red Riding Hood where the grandma doesn't get eaten but flees out the

I've been trying to read as many books as new ones I buy which means I'm on track to read almost 70 books this year (including some manga/comics) which is, I think, the most I've ever read in a year and it makes me realize I could never be one of those reading 100+ books a year ppl cause my head

AND supporting your local library is super important! If you actually DO want books to be available to everyone, the library *already exists* and is staffed by the people who are deep in the trenches of fighting censorship! Supporting the library is doing actual good for your community!
TAPS SCREEN

For like the zillionth time: Libraries are FREE for you, but WE still get compensated for our work!!
Just saw someone claim that authors who want to be paid for their work are "class traitors" because we "only let the wealthy" read our books, and I think I need to go into the woods to scream into the night for a bit.

It's $5, not your first-born child! I need that $5 for health insurance!

Being an adult is knowing which battles to fight and which battles to give up and the battle I gave up this morning is seeing the snail & worm books classified in the insect category of my primary school library and deciding not to reclassify them into their own categories.

Good news: it's a mysterious different attention deficit problem, you might even want to call it an attention deficit ... disorder
