Pretty crazy that the party supported by actual swastika flag waving nazis shouting "Jews will not replace us" are even pretending that this is not a ludicrous ploy to target minorities and attack their freedom of speech.

Yes, this is exactly what it looks like... 😱

This 15 centimetre -long, perfectly intact blood clot was coughed up in one piece. Even more remarkable? It’s an exact cast of the right bronchial tree—the branching network of airways that carries air to and from the lungs. 🧵

This letter by Dave Weldon is quite something. An amalgamation of anti-vax talking points and conspiracy theories that reads as if it was written by a child and clearly without the help of a spell checker.
This person almost got to run the CDC…

Great question! Aspiration pneumonia usually involves mouth flora (streptococci, Fusobacterium, Peptostreptococcus), not typically Pseudomonas or resistant GNRs. Gram neg concerns arise if lower GI contents are aspirated, but CTX covers gram neg like Klebsiella if needed so we're covered here ☺️

Well done. I was just confronted with a *friend* who is totally buying into nonsense she is being brainwashed with on the Fox channel.
I don't understand it. How can people with a somewhat functioning brain buy into all that nonsense?
Psychiatrists? Possibly, but there aren't all that many around.

Not all aspirations need Abx ☺️

aspiration pneumonitis resolves in 24-48h; if symptoms persist >48h, treat aspiration pneumonia with CTX

CTX covers key oral anaerobes (eg Peptostreptococcus) so extended anaerobe coverage is usually unnecessary

avoid piptaz first-line & reserve for resistant cases

Me: “What’s with all these vancomycin orders?”

MD: “I figured if I ordered vanco wrong enough, it’d set off your radar and summon you right away”

Me: “Thanks…”😅 (not going to disagree, it worked…)
