Today I was in the Kyiv Botanical Garden. Plants in the greenhouse are freezing due to constant power and heat outages. Workers are doing everything they can to save them.

I read about grandmother Zhenya, who froze to death in her apartment in Kyiv. She survived the Holocaust, but did not survive this winter. It turns out we were almost neighbors; she lived at Podil.

Yesterday, I was returning home from Davos under ballistic missiles. If these were real peace talks, the mass shelling of civilians in Ukraine would have been a pretext at least for harsh diplomatic statements.
January 24, 2026 at 8:16 PM
At home in Kyiv. At night, the Russians fired ballistic missiles and drones exploded. In the morning, the heating went out again. But home, my sweet home, I'm so happy to return back 💙💛

Those were quite challenging days in Davos. But there was also a pleasant moment when I received the World Woman Hero award. Every year, the World Woman Foundation honors a woman who demonstrates leadership, strength and has a significant impact on the lives of women and girls in different countries

In an hour, I'll be speaking at the World Economic Forum in #Davos. I'll be talking about Trump's year of negotiations, which has become the deadliest year for civilians since 2022. I’ll share how Russians destroyed energy infrastructure and left my family and others without heat and electricity.
January 20, 2026 at 11:20 AM
I associate this winter with three things: cold, darkness, and gratitude. I am not mentioning Russian missiles and drones because they strike civil infrastructure all year round. That is why we in Kyiv are sitting at minus -17 degrees without heating, electricity, water, or communication. 1/1

I invite all the foreign journalists who have asked me if peace is coming soon, as we have been promised after each round of negotiations initiated by President Trump, to go to Kyiv now.
Listen to the explosions with us and gain a better understanding of what Putin thinks about these negotiations.

This is the city hall of Lyon. Yesterday, we discussed sexual violence during wartime with the fantastic women who help survivors. Every hour, when the bells ring at this city hall, the Ukrainian anthem is played. I thank you, Lyon, for this support.

It is up to Russia to pay, and up to Europe to compel it to do so.
Injured States can take proportionate countermeasures to stop the aggression and compensate for the damage.

We had a night of Russian culture today. You ask, what is a night of Russian culture? It's when Russian missiles and drones fly to kill you and your family. Russian culture is a culture of a hierarchy of violence, where a slave who gets a weapon becomes a despot.

Once again, I am convinced that women are a powerful force. A meeting of the global women's movement took place in Marseille. They gave as a present an olive tree. Today I am taking it to Kyiv. I am a little bit worried how we will go through all the transfers and trains with it.

The event at the Berlin theater began with a choir performance. I was asked what has helped me do my work all these years. I said empathy for people. Interestingly, I had considered empathy to be my vulnerability, but it turned out to be my strength.

I have a question. First of all, to the Americans. For the president of what country do you think American representative Witkoff is working? For Trump? Or for Putin?

On Holodomor Remembrance Day, I will say only one thing. Ukrainians with weapons in 2025 are not the same Ukrainians without weapons who died of artificial famine in 1932-33. We have learned our history lessons well.

I had the opportunity to talk to journalists from various media outlets in Manila. They were interested in everything - peace talks, the Russians' use of drones to hunt civilians, what we are doing to return children abducted by Russia, and how Ukrainians organized to resist to RU aggression.

One of Hollywood's bravest hearts💙💛 If the brilliant report of the UN's Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Ukraine failed to draw attention to the cynical drone safaris on civilians that the Russians love to do, then maybe Angelina Jolie's visit to Kherson will help.

Those minutes until you find your child after the kindergarten is shelled. If you need to explain what hell is, this is it.

The world's biggest child kidnapper, Putin, hit a kindergarten in Kharkiv. There are injured children. There is a fire in the kindergarten.

I always come to Prague with joy. This time it was literally half a day. At the Forum, which Václav Havel founded, I talked about our PeopleFirst campaign. We are returning the human dimension to political processes.

Russia once again assured the UN that it wants peace, but bombed peaceful cities in Ukraine for 12 hours straight. Four people died in Kyiv, including a nurse and a patient at the cardiology institute. A whole street was destroyed in Petropavlivskyi Borshchagovka.

We have a very strange life. And a very fragile one. No one knows when it will end. That's why we value life so much - our families, our friends, our time together. Because as long as we hold back Russian aggression, we have a chance to survive. If Russia occupies us, it will kill us all.

My cat Sourcream hasn't come out of hiding since this morning. She always does this after intense shelling. Today was a record. Russia launched more than a thousand drones against us. I heard missiles flying over my house. Quite a night, to be honest.

In Kyiv, people bring flowers to a makeshift memorial in memory of the children whose lives were taken by Russia today.

Russian missiles killed 18 people, including 4 children.
