I know this has been talked about to death already but I want to talk about Chuck Close! He was known for making huge photorealistic portraits. One day at the height of his career he had a sudden seizure caused by a spinal blood clot that left him paralyzed from the neck down.

He started painting again with a brush in his teeth. As he fought to regain some movement in his upper arms, he literally strapped a brush to his hand and continued painting.
