My name is Anthony Woodward, I’m an Australian comic artist who lives in Canada.

I love making non-fiction comics mostly ‘autofiction’ and more recently about UFOs.

I also like drawing robot junk heaps and a couple of years ago I made an all ages comic called Bored in Space.

The ironic thing about AI "art" is that REAL art gives us the tools to philosophically investigate why AI is not a good thing, and ignoring real art lets people sink deeper and deeper into a dangerous anti-human rhetoric that dooms us all.

19- I DROP OFF ELLIOTT TO HIS MUSIC PRACTICE AND HEAD OUT FOR A COFFEE TO DRAW. (SEATS!) 20- I HAVE THE DAY OFF. I TRY TO RECUPERATE BY TAKING EASY AND CATCHING UP ON SOME DRAWING my dog is whining, more food please 21- I think I had too much coffee today. I have a counselling appointment before work today and I feel nervous and racy. 22-I’m finding it hard to drag my arse out of bed lately. 23- I met up with the local strong towns group to help with a letter writing campaign. 24-although it’s been slowly getting colder today was bright and sunny. I walked down the road to get a chocolate Freddo frog. 25- it’s the local comic festival today and I was invited to run a workshop on character design. Later I went to keynote artist talk by comic book artist Patrick Kyle. “During this time my style began to change into a new format. Later that night they screened a Canadian animated film called endless cookie. 26- back to work. “How was the festival?” “Great! I feel so inspired!” 27-coffee catchup with fellow library worker and comic artist Jonah. “It was a great day, you have to check out this endless cookie movie.” “Cool!” 28- “Watching endless cookie awoke something long dormant in me …” “I forgot I was playing around with a new stylistic approach in Woodlands no.1 that I need to get back to

There’s been a trend in libraries to call library users ‘Customers’. It’s a small but still insidious thing imo.

The library is not a business. Our users support us as we support them which is why I prefer the original term of ‘Patrons’!

As a librarian I love seeing library love on here. Even if you’re not a big reader you can support your local library lots of different ways.

Even basic things like keeping your library card updated, using online resources, and visiting occasionally all contributes to support.
