flâneur: indulging in the idle joy of wandering aimlessly through winding urban streets

Love everything about Lancaster living. I’m on the City Planning Commission and always looking for the best in cities.

I didn’t join @bsky.app to get a ton of likes or amass followers — although having more followers than following is a dream.
I’m simply delighted to sit at the feet of some amazing people who have a love for community, urbanism and planning.
Thank you 😊
Next year, I think I wanna do some kind of fixer-Christmas where we all just bring things that we want fixed on our Christmas list. Fix my socks, put a new battery in my watch kind of thing…

I would love to go back to this moment of pure bliss.

The renovation was designed to meet “passive house” certification, a rigorous international sustainability standard that drastically reduces a building’s energy use through airtight insulation, efficient windows and mechanical ventilation that recycles heat.

“We’re trying to do something that’s atypical and out of the box,” Pellman said. “We have an active permit, but the historic board wasn’t notified early on. Now we’re stuck waiting — we were told we could proceed, but we can’t schedule inspections. There’s not a lot of clarity.”

The New York Stock Exchange will leave along with the billionaires and the middle class will have to pay all the taxes — So they will leave too.
False: There is no middle class 😆

Another disheartening headline. Nearby Lancaster County has a similar problem. Despite heroic farmland preservation efforts, we continue to make the same mistakes.

We all know the history of many nursery rhymes.
So… How long after we stop vaxxing until there is a whole new book of nursery rhymes for this generation? #RingAroundtheRosie #LondonBridgeisFallingDown #KidzBop

Only problem with this proposal?

I don’t think 20,000 units is enough. 8,000 acres x 7 units = 56,000 This is what I would consider the minimum density for development— probably more by a train station.

Not every residential build needs to be sexy. Just give me clean lines, density, and an abundance of amenities.

PSA: People on bikes aren’t swerving to annoy drivers, they’re just trying not to die or destroy their mode of transportation.
This is generally what the bike portion looks like of our “shared” roads. Glorious.
